The required time rule defines the period within a day when employees must be present. Required time and any violations are marked on the Employee Day timeline; violations are recorded as missing time.
Two rule types are available:
Required time by days – required time is set for each day of the week.
Equals to paid time – required time is the same as paid time.
1. In Settings > Global Time Rules, click Edit on the Required time rule.
Note: If you do not see this view, ask your account administrator for the appropriate permissions.
2. Click Edit again and select the rule type.
For Required time by days, enter Duration and Start offset for each day. Duration defines how long the required time lasts, and start offset defines how long after the shift start it begins. With an offset of 0:00, required time starts with the shift.
Different values can be set for holidays with Use different value on holiday.
If the rule is set to Disable, no required time violations are recorded.
For Equals to paid time, required time is the same as paid time for each day.
You can also set a tolerance at arrival/departure: a grace period after the start and before the end of required time in which clocking in or out does not count as a violation.
If Affect paid time is selected, paid time is shortened by the tolerance.
3. Click Save, select the date from which the settings apply, and confirm with Save.
