Administrators and managers can set a substitute approver who will receive approval requests during the primary approver's absence. When the primary approver records an absence for a specific date, the substitute approver assumes approval rights for the duration of that absence.
The substitute approver is configured in the profile of the logged-in user and can only be set by the user for themselves.
While selecting from all colleagues, only users with group rights and approving included in the authorization scheme are listed.
The substitute approver remains active until the notification is canceled.
If the user you are trying to set as substitue approver is not on the list, it means they do not have the appropriate permissions. A substitute approver must be a person with group rights (manager or administrator) and approval enabled.
Adding new user to substitute approver list is done by changing authorization role on their profile.
Changing the role from employee to manager or admin and not inserting department/tag restrictions will give this user access to whole company.
